Featured Led Light

We were just reviewing specifications for the unbranded white GU10 led light from Rapid Electronics and there are some eye-opening details.  This led lamp consists of a cluster of 15 leds consuming a meager 1.5 watts as a replacement for a mains powered GU10 standard halogen.

The most interesting feature was a claimed lamp life of between 50,000 and 80,000 hours.  Taking the 50,000 hours as the base then this equates to 5.7 years of continuous operation or nearly 46 years of operation at just 3 hours per day.  This is at a unit price of £8.99 to purchase the light.
